Rachel's Recipe (from Betty Crocker)

Sugar Cookies

cream:
2/3 c shortening (the butter flavored kind makes it even better)
3/4 c sugar
1 t vanilla

Beat in:
1 egg

Stir in:
4 T milk

Sift and Blend with above mixture:
2 c flour
1 1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt

separate into two dough balls and chill for 1 hour. Two separate balls makes it easier to roll out. Roll to 1/8" or thinner lightly floured surface and cut shapes. Place on Greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Cool and frost. (These actually turned out so good that I didn't get them frosted before they were all gone.) Makes 2 dozen.
